Off the air ...

Postby Oliver » Friday Sep 22, 2006 5:10 pm

Guys,

Sorry we were off the air for most of today.

I forgot to pay the domain hosting.

Big whoops.

So, sorry for any inconvenience or withdrawal symptoms this caused.

Cheers,

Oliver

Oliver, how much was the domain hosting bill, and where does the money come from to pay this overhead?

Not intending to pry, but this is an absolutely fantastic site, and I don't think any members/visitors would expect you to be out of pocket.

One reason why I am in favour of sponsorship.

pacman,

Geoff and I pay for it out of our own pocket. It's $330 a year for hosting, plus domain name rego, which is about $55 a year.

It's not much really (about 50c a day each), considering the fun we have with the site, and the notoriety it brings!

Cheers,

Oliver

Thanks Hatchet,

I might consider it down the track, but for now it's just easier to have someone do it for us. Once I get the rest of my life organised, the missus might let me contemplate hosting the site myself!

Oliver

I'll certainly keep it in mind as it's something I wouldn't mind tackling before I leave this mortal coil.
