More Aldi beer.

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

More Aldi beer.

Anyone tried the pale ale yet. It could be interesting, but you have to buy a case to try it.

Boonie,

Put more petrol in the car and drive to Cellarbrations at Adamstown where you can purchase Tuborg for $35 a carton.

Cheers, Pete

if i recall correctly, it's the most expensive beer there

i found a bottle-o with a hell of a lot of JS Hop Thief, bought a 6 pack.. tastes .. well, it's alright. not really to my taste i think. good for what it is, but i've decided i prefer more malty beers as opposed to real hoppy.

I'm sure the gear you guys make is heaps better anyway! I haven't bought any beer to drink at home for over 12 months :)

Gotta give em a go.

I would not have found the Little Creatures, James Squire Golden or Amber, Konig Pilsener, Hofbrau Original, Tripel......list goes on and on, if I had not purchased some bottled/tap beer.

I love my HB as I think it is awesome, but I sample just to see what is out there and if I like it, try and clone it.

Some of my HB's are better, much better, but who knows what is out there :?

Cheers

Boonie.

PS Who you callin a geezer? I'm only 35

Got given a few Boags St. George the others week.
Not much chop i reckon, won't be ever buying them for myself.
Don't mind their Premium beer, nice and smooth for my tastes.

Boags

Premium 6/10
Draught 3/10
Light 6/10 (This is 6/10 in the light beer category only) Bit watery
St George 4.5/10
Strongarm -1/10

Guy across the road works for Boags and gave me samples.....shame they are not 8/10, otherwise I'd be begging for more samples !!

My 8/10 is LCPA, Belgian Triple 9.5/10

Cheers

I'm only buying from the bottlo beer that comes in SwingTops or from Belgium.

Tonight, we went to the pub for tea and I had a couple of HighTails. Do you want the honest to gob truth, or hear that you can't make better yourself?

Think Tuborg, amongst other "imports", is now brewed locally under licence. When this occurs, the beers tends to lose something. For me, at any rate. Must be the water, the only ingredient that cannot be reliably replicated.

Maybe it's just me?

No, pacman, it is not just you.

Several beers I used to enjoy when they bounced over the waves from their brewery of origin to my pub are now just expensive VB to me.

Fortunately, I discovered porn... no... homebrew!!!

You know, I reckon the hightail is the beer that I like the least out of their range; pity it's the one that's most widely available. I blame the chicks, cos I reckon this one appeals to them.

Absolutely. Guinness, Becks, Stella... all are lost!
