Coopers Pale Ale

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Coopers Pale Ale

Bought a carton of Pale Ale stubbies on special yesterday.

I had forgotten what a really great beer this is. Great taste, nice and crisp and no hangover as it's naturally fermented.

:D It's good for starters too!

When I buy it these days, I tend to buy a carton of the longies.

And don't forget the longies are the best bottles around, bar none, for refilling with your own brew.

They are pretty good bottles but dont quite have the feeling of a good pickaxe! CPA is a damn fine drop and i think comes into its own in the warmer weather.

I perfer a bottle full of beer to a pickaxe personally. Pickaxes just aren't as refreshing.

Sure is. I have to say that I'm enjoying the JS golden on tap a bit more at the moment, but the CPA alays works too.

I love the Pale. A good experience from the bottle and from the tap even though they tend to taste different. Of course you can make a bottle taste different (n a good way) by either tipping it or not if its stored upright in the fridge, or if you store it on its side. Funny thing bottle-conditioning.
I wish I could get Dark here. Sparkling is ok, but I tend to like Pale and Dark better. The only time I had dark on tap was at the Albert Hotel in Tamworth.

There are very few beers that come close to CPA as an all-round great tasting sessional beer. It can be savoured slowly, but you can also knock a few back off the tap without having to endure megaswill or pricey imports. I could go on an on about this beer, for everyday drinking I just don't think you get any better.

It's pretty much all i've been drinking lately.
Especially for a session beer, you can drink 12+ and wake up as if you'd been drinking water all night.

I've always respected this beer, but in the last few weeks, my appreciation has increased tenfold. Definetly my number one session beer.

Coopers seem to be running a bit of a promo campaign as when I bought a bottle of the PA today at the uni pub I was also awarded with a Coopers key ring. Not a huge prize but I'm not one to turn down getting free stuff with my beer and now my key ring has a Coopers logo and a bottle opener attached to it. 8)

Hey yeah, those key-ring bottle-openers have come in handy for me more often than not....

Anyone found Cooper's elsewhere? Do they export much? We seem to just get Foster's here for Aus beer : /

Why anyone would go for a slab of carlton or VB when you can spend maybe $5 more and buy a case of this I don't know....
Tis a fine drop to be sure, and it's good to know that its appreciated.
