I just spent a couple of weeks in the US, everytime I visit a new country the first thing I do is have a beer (usually inthe airport).
So when I landed in Dallas I headed straight to TGI Fridays and had a pint of SNPA ($7
) a great beer on draught, very drinkable.
I found the general beer scene in America to be thriving. There are some great beers and every bar I visited had a huge range of craft beers, wheat beers & imported beer.
I tried to have a couple of different beers each night, including some local ones from wherever I was.
At no time did I drink, or see anyone drinking, Bud, Coors or Michelob.
This place is great
http://www.experiencethepub.com/orlando despite it looking a bit touristy, the barman I had really knew his beer. Lots of free tasters to help you decide what you want to drink.
I had a great Pilsner in New York (I think it was called Coney Island Pilsner)
The only bad experience I had was in a bar in NY when the barmaid put a slice of lemon in my Hoegarden.
