CROWN LAGER "proudly not European"

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

CROWN LAGER "proudly not European"

WTF???

New ad campaign, goes on to claim "origional brewing style for the last 80 years, unlike the new european boutique beers".

Yeah cause europe has only just started brewing beer. Seems like a desperate attempt to cling onto existing drinkers after coopers posted a record profit 06-07 of $19.5M marking the rise in "different beers".

I saw the ad in the virgin blue mag on a plane last night, still trying to find the actual ad online. Made my blood boil.

It's a question of demographics as you say.

It's aimed at the sort of people that think that a Falcadore is a good car....

More like "proudly not drinkable".

Just another cynical and jingoistic attempt by the marketing twerps to try and appeal to cashed-up bogan nationalism.

Perhaps Australia should develop its own CAMRA-style beer association to encourage people to drink tasty beers.

I'd join it
