Barls Belgian Trippel was probably the most anticipated beer, being in a champagne bottle.
It did not disappoint. Had the higher carbonation of Belgian beers and was perfectly balanced.
The only flaw was the quantity. I really needed a case of the stuff.
I think it's been way too long since I've done a Belgian beer.
What yeast did you use Barls?

Thanks Barls, that's on my list.
Looks like I'll have to get the Weyermann Abbey from Ross as G&G don't stock it.

Just drinking your Honey ginger beer Barls.
I'm assuming it's not a kit GB as I can't taste the artificial sweetner and it's got a real ginger bite at the back of the throat.
It's not sweet but it's not really dry either so I guess that's what you'd want? (I don't drink much ginger beer)
Must be an age thing or maybe I'm immune (read saazgorillas) but I can't taste the honey.

Tipsy,
Let me know which of these two Braumeister cherry-popping beers you would like and I'll get it off to you.
No.68 DrSmurto's Golden Ale
55% Maris Otter
20% Bestmalz vienna
20% Weyermann rye
5% Simpsons Dark Crystal
US-05
Hopped with Amarillo
No.69 Steam-ish Ale
55.6% Pilsner malt
40% Wheat malt
4.4% Pale crystal malt
Late additions of Citra and Galaxy
US-05
Hint: I would go the former as I find the latter a bit sweet, but you might like that.
Cheers,
Oliver

Well Oliver, my impatience got the better of me and It's pouring a little murky. I really should have left it at least a week longer. (maybe it's the Rye?)
Anyway that's not affecting the flavour.
It is perfectly well balanced, can't pick any sweetness or bitterness at all.
I really wouldn't have picked any of the ingredients but after reading your recipe I can taste the Amarillo and rye.
A very nice beer packaged in a way too small container

Thanks for the comments, Tipsy. Glad you enjoyed it. It's definitely a recipe I will return to, perhaps with a different hop. However, unfortunately I am currently hamstrung in my brewing by the availability of bottles (or, more correctly, the room to appropriately store full bottles as I have hundreds of empty
Pickaxe bottles in storage)
Cheers,
Oliver
