Sorry but as a Carlton supporter my hatred for Collingwood runs deep. I love to hate them

Its lunch time and cold in Adelaide so I thought I'd open Big Dave's Vasodilator stout. Gas on opening, nice aroma. Poured well with good head. Head retention and lacing nicely. Dave this is (was) a very tasteful stout with pleasant after taste, warmed the " cockles" so to speak. You said you thought a bit "thin", I'd say a lovely drinking drop. Thanks.

The docs Russian Imperial Stout was lovingly consumed yesterday, oh boy. Slight gas on opening followed by a sweet-ish stout aroma. The taste is exceptional, coffee,chocolate/cocoa with a balanced hint of oak. Absolutely top drop, smooth and more-ish doc. One problem, couldn't get my tongue in the bottle to fully clean out although up ending the bottle for a while helped. You were right Sonny.
Cheers BB
Ps drinking at about 14 degrees is certainly the way to treat this one.

Glad you enjoyed it mate. Might allow myself to crack open one of the remaining 11 bottles now the cold weather has hit. Will wait till I get over the manflu, until then it's medicinal red wine and/or whiskey

I think I received a bottle from Barls, going by the name on the return address. The bottle was labelled from "The Dog Brewery". If so then thanks Barls, will report when consumed.

I'd be happy to send you a 750mL bottle of homemade spiced mead to help you through your life-threatening manflu, Doc. Just send me a bottle of that RIS in exchange! :P

Hey bb, I mailed off the two bottles for you on Friday so you should get it soon. I forgot to put my name on the box but its the one that taped up a hell of a lot. I also included the brew mate print outs and wrote the batch numbers on them.

I look forward to hearing what you think about them.

Just finished Earle's Black Sheep clone. Good gas on opening and fruity aroma. Poured well with lovely amber head and beer colouring. Sweetish to the taste, fruity yet with a very plesant hop bite. Excellent drop, would love to have with a proper oven cooked pizza. Top drop Earle, I could drink quite a few of these. ( lazing in a hammock on a hot day with an esky full.) Is the recipe in a thread somewhere? :D
Cheers BB Ps saw tour of the brewery on the Two Fat Ladies cooking show

I thought I would try the amber so I knew what you were talking about when you opened it. Its still very malty and a bit sweet, definitely not a session beer bit still nice to drink anyway. Hopefully the hops come through when it ages more, balancing it a bit better.

I hope you still enjoy it though.
