The Autumn International Beer Festival including the Beertopia awards are on this weekend at Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Building, with an impressive line-up of brewskies (http://tinyurl.com/7e9vb). Anyone interested in forming a homebrewandbeer.com delegation? The $35 admission is pretty steep.
I'm thinking of attending on Friday.

And then I see the other thread in the "general" forum.
This thread = dead :)

They can't be a very serious outfit having Carling Black Label there. Must be feed day at the track.

Yeah. I thought that when I first looked at "the joke list" (see other thread).

When you look at the serious list of last years exhibitors, it starts looking much better.
Just about all of the micro breweries wares from all over Australia and NZ are there for the tasting.

I have seen the actual awards given for this year and it looks like there will be quite a few micros from yanky land too.

The awards seem a bit of a joke. Looks like everyone gets one.

It's true that pretty much every beer wins a medal, but very few got a gold. Might pay to stick with these rather than run the gammut of silvers' and bronzes.
Didn't see VB anywhere on the list, perhaps they don't make an aluminium medal.....
