My lovely wife brought home a couple bottles of Affligem blonde. What a beer I will have to make something like this some day in the not so distant future.

Blue Paddle (pale pilsner) at Amsterdam Cafe, Geary St, San Francisco.

Allagash White (Portland)

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at Zeki's Bar, California St, SF.

Racer 5 IPA (Beer Republic)

What's been the standout Lob?

Drinking Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at Chinese Camp Store/Kiwi Tavern about 70 miles from Yosemite, with the owner (originally from Whakatane, NZ) showing me his collection of loaded guns - small one behind the bar, larger one under the US flag on a stool near the cash register. Also, Blue Moon; a US clone of Hoegaarden available in most bars, 6-pack around 8 bucks at gas stations and liquor stores.

Negra Modelo on Santa Monica Pier, LA.

It is almost as though you're going out of your way to only drink the duds.

Sorta; it's 'What are you drinking now' so I can only post from bars with wifi. I drank a tall neck of Big Daddy in SF but I couldn't connect to the bars wifi. Hell, my posts represent only 0.00003% of my beer consumption on the road trip so far...

I liked the food in New Orleans best. Gumbo, fried catfish, and even grits. Good coffee was hard to find in the South though.

Yeah, that is pretty hard going. I've been back for about 3 weeks now from a few weeks over there and I'm still not game to have a look in one of the bottleos I used to be impressed with here.
