Anyone looking for bottles?

Post by timmy »

Hi,

I've got a stack of 500ml bottles as well as some longnecks that are looking for a new home. Anyone in SE Melbourne need any?

Cheers,

Tim

Tim I'd love to take the 500ml ones off you. I like using them for my weizen style brews, just feels kinda authentic. I'm right for longnecks though. I'll PM you.

If you grab the bottle Weizgei, grab the long necks and we can put them into the "brew day" mix.

Just wandering through ebay and found this little gem for Melbourne people..

they are the CUB equivalent of pick axe bottles

looks like he has a shit load by the way.

You'd want to check they're the bottle makers ones and not the "not to be refilled" version. I think, judging by the CUB logo embossed on the side, that they are the not to be refilled version. I have about 60 of these in my collection and (touch wood) haven't had a problem but I'm careful not to use them for heavily carbed styles and big malty beers that will have extended aging and are at risk of over carbonation.

That being said, they do cap well and it looks like a pretty good buy as long as you're careful with them.

FWIW, the photo of the single bottle is definitely one of the returnable/refillable ones, as are all those in the crate.

You can tell by the large wording around the base if you zoom in and the shape of the crown seal (there are some close-ups of the refillable CUB and other returnable bottles in this thread) - the not-to-be-refilled versions have a more diminutive roll at the top beneath where the crown seal is.

If I didn't already have 300-odd Pickaxe bottles I'd be tempted to pick up some of these!

Cheers,
