Mail Order

Postby Shaun » Sunday Jan 29, 2006 11:03 pm

I am after a list of HBS that have a web site and will take mail orders so I can compare product prices and delivery charges.

I already have checked out:
Grain and Grape,
Grumpy's,
The Country Home Brewer,
Homebrewers Warehouse,
Mayfairs, and
Brewcraft.

Any others are greatly appreciated.
Shaun

Check out this site for hops. Very good prices. A kilo of hops for around $50-$60 works out very cheap for us.

Let us know how you go in you investigations Shaun. I've been looking around a bit for sites that deliver though the only ones i've found are ones you've already covered. I'm going to start ordering my supplies due to the fact that my local HBS isn't very local, the service sucks and half the stock is past it's use-by date.

Thanks Shaun. At the moment i'm thinking Daves Home Brew might be the way for me to go. I get free delivery provided I spend over $100 at a time (easily done if I plan a few brews ahead). Plus they seem to be pretty serious about expanding their business, they went to the trouble of having themselves listed in my local yellowpages when sydney is a good 500-600 kms away.

I shop in person at Dave's. His service, attitude etc makes it a fun trip down to N.Syd.

Cheers,
Greg

My order from Daves got here today. He posted it on monday, sent me an email not 3 mins after I confirmed the order. Seems like a good bloke and the order came without a hitch. I'll probably be making Daves my regular HBS. Now I can make up the brews that I've been wanting to make. :D

One in the gold coast which ships wold wide, and I'm not affiliated.

Completely different HBS, all their own kits; but the accessories and harware is really impressive.

I'm trying their Light Bavarian Bock (3.4Kgs) simply add water to see what they are like, will post the findings but it's likely to be a few months before its ready. Was $23.50 and is a blend of German and Aussie malts, prehopped, and came with a Danish Ale yeast.

Cheers

Jay, I'm in Albury so I only just qualify to get free delivery from Dave's (so long as I spend over $100 which is easily done).

Hi Shaun

How did you end up going with your comparison?

I've gone through the ones listed and some from google and I've come up with bmbrews.com.au

Has anyone one else gone through this exercise? And found anyone who'll beat this one in NSW? The prices are cheaper than my local HBS and I don't have to drive the 15 mins.

Cheers

I don't go to my local "home brew" store anymore unless I get caught short of something.

Blue Mountain Brewing is top of my list for my supplies now. I place orders over $100 and delivery is free (NSW), have it delivered to my work (usually next day) so there's also the time saving of not having to physically go to a store.

I've ordered from there twice so far and couldn't ask for more. Top service and like you say great prices. Highly recommened.

BTW - No affiliation other than a satisfied customer
