Anyone know anything about it?

Simple Hydrometer is the cheapest, less hassle tool of homebrewing compared to this "high tech" shit?

Advantages of the refractometer over hydrometer is that you only need a couple of drops which cool to the correct temp quite fast. This is very handy when checking gravity of runoff during a mash, or during a boil to see how you are going against your target gravity.

A Refractomer is really only needed or makes life easier if you are making AG or partials and need quick on the spot gravity readings, for checking efficiency etc. You don't need one for kit brewing.

Also the refractomer calculates the amount of sugars in the wort which is excellent for working out your OG; however for FG if you use your refractomer to check FG you need to run the figures through a formula as alcohol affects the reading.

I have one but only use it in AG mashing and OG measurements. And it's a piece os Pi ss to use.
