Where to buy JP's Book?

Postby geoffclifton » Tuesday Jan 16, 2007 8:01 pm

I did do a search guys as I thought this would have been answered heaps of times.

Anyone know where John Palmers 'How To Brew' book is sold in Oz? I know I can order online ex US but all that currency conversion and shipping crap.

Cheers, Geoff.

I've seen it from time to time in Borders Syd CBD and Hornsby. Dymocks and Angus & Robertson in the Syd CBD. Also some HBS' carry it. If all else fails you can get it on line from a bunch of retailers.

Yeah, the latest edition is at Grain and Grape. But I'm sure you'd be able to find somewhere closer.

You didn't try the whole "hey look over there at that!" routine whilst trying to slip it in with the rest of your purchases?

Would you believe Nowra library.

I looked it up on their computer which said yes and available but it wasn't on the shelf. Turned out it was brand new downstairs waiting to be put out. I got it, first to read.

Another online purchase for $27.13 3-5 weeks delivery

The library wouldn't like me using the How to Brew. My copy is choccers with my notes, metric conversions and other scribble.

So's mine, the only problem I have with the book is the Yanks won't adopt the metric system.

I believe the official measurement system of the USofA is, in fact, metric. They have an official conversion table that maps proper measures to their weird system because they have not regulated that metric *must* be used.

I notice that NASA recently decided to move to metric on the next project they undertake and has international involvement to avoid the embarrassment of the ISS (I think) where they got the conversions wrong and shipped a boat anchor into Low Earth Orbit.
