Dalat red wine in Dalat, Vietnam. This is my 4th glass. Just can't drink the s**t beer on offer here anymore. Trapped inside a restaurant as it is absolutely pissing down. River outside.

We stayed in a houseboat about 30 metres from the brewery. Was a pretty good weekend.

Great beer, great location. We did a houseboat trip 12 months ago and dropped in there. Best time of the year, river is all yours.

English bitter brewed at work as part of a brewing demonstration and beer sensory session. I split the 30L of wort into 3 batches. Used WY1469, 1275 and 1026. This is the 1275 batch. Tastes quite good but i prefer the esters from the other 2 yeasts.

Simple grain bill, 90% MO, 5% medium crystal and 5% wheat. Challenger @60, 15 to 30 IBU. OG 1.042.

I wish. It was the last time I brewed and the only time in the past 6 months.

It was a way of getting a few organisations on campus to interact. A social networking event. We brewed on 3 systems, split the worts into 11 fermenters and presented 11 beers for asensory session 4 weeks later. The organisers are all involved in wine research so it was also a chance for those of us who are also brewers to showcase a different fermented beverage.

On the brewday we had people drop in and chat to us about the process and the different systems being used.

Well tonight it was Sierra Nevada pale ale and then some Trentham Estate 2005 Heathcote Shiraz. And finally some Seppeltsfield 21 year old port. It was my birthday after all. 52 years young.
