I came here to find an old post of mine, great to see a couple of people posting still.
I learned so much from here.

I suppose fb groups have brought about the demise of great communities like this.
I'm still brewing hard and making some awesome beers. I just bought a good mate a starter kit last week, he's on his apprenticeship now.
Anyway, as you were. Cheers

I got the Coopers XPA. Yep, packs a punch.

Thanks BadSeed. I'm sure you will guide your apprentice with both wisdom & grace. And have a big session with him on the release of his first batch.

Currently drinking a k&b DSGA with some citra added in boil and dry (with amarillo). Really enjoying it.
Normally not an overly exiting announcement, but it's the first brew in keg for me, so it tastes sooo much better.

Indeed. Happy kegging, you'll never look back.

I don't profess to be anything like an expert, but if you run into any problems let me know. I'd be happy to help if I can.

PS. Great to hear that the good Doctor's great recipe is still getting a run.

Thanks for the offer Geoff. My brother has been kegging for years and hes only around the corner, so I've been leaning on him for advice.

DSGA is still my favourite recipe, tweaked it this time with citra, next weekend I'm gunna try some lemondrop.
Most of the recipes in my brewlog (about 70) have some Dr.S influence.

Carlsberg Danish Pilsner. I actually felt like a Pils after working in the garden for a few hours. Can't say I've ever had this one before and it is quite refreshing. Not quite up there with the great pilsners but certainly ok.

What surprised me was that it is actually brewed under licence by Coopers in SA. Didn't know they did that sort of stuff. Anyway, it was only $14 for a six pack at my local drive through. Winning.

I well understand.

A few years ago I was in the USA & went to a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game in Florida. I'd been chewing on fat IPAs for weeks. The weather in Tampa Bay was hot & humid, and we were sitting in the sun. Anyway, the only beers on offer at Ray Jay Stadium were Bud Light and Miller Light. I went the Bud, and it felt like the best beer I'd had since I'd been there.

Weird, perhaps embarrassing, but there you are.

Sometimes it is the time and place rather than just the beer.

Drinking a 4 Pines Hefeweizen now. A good fathers day drink I suspect. Like you said Geoff, it is nice to get away from the over the top craft beers to something basic, but nevertheless enjoyable. Happy Fathers Day.

Friday night watching the football, I had a couple of Stockade Bre Co. offerings

Splicer XPA and Mr Fruju NEIPA. Both very enjoyable, I probably enjoyed the XPA more, but couldn't drink a heap of them (bit sweet). Also Thunder Road NEIPA that was nice enough.

Both SWMBO and daughter tried the Stockade NEIPA and said they'd drink it again. Neither of them drink beer.

Fathers Day spent at home drinking HB pale ale followed by HB stout later in the day.

4 Pines Extra Refreshing Ale 4.1% - and yes quite refreshing. Just finished putting a flat pack desk together. Took me pretty much all day (it's a big desk). Office is getting a refit.
