Any way to make this show the reply in the actual email?

A good idea. But I don't think it's currently possible.

But it may be in the pipeline with the people who develop the software for the board. Check out http://www.phpbb.com

I keep getting topic reply notifications, but the last time anyone replied (actually I was the last poster) was in september... anyone else had this?

You will find it was SPAM and one of the moderators has deleted the post...........
