G'day everyone,
As you can see i'm new to this site, and new to the brewing game so I was looking for some help
Obviously I'm interested in having a go at brewing myself but have only ever seen the plastic drum type brew kits with the little breather in the top, and was wondering if they were a good kit or are they more a gimmick for beginners
I have also heard that you can brew into plastic bottles, and if so are they better/worse/no different to glass
I know I could have read through the posts and probably found this info out, but this way is much quicker
Sorry if my questions are a bit vauge, but as you can see I DO need help
Thanks for any assistance
Cheers
Turtle.

i am a begginer myself i am doing my 7th brew at the moment. i have one of these kits (the brewcraft one). they are the best way to start out. they give you all the equipment you need to get started and are a good building block to work form as you get more advanced.

The kits you mention are fine as they sound like coopers kits, but bassically anything similar that you can ferment in is fine, go for 25l-30l though as they are more versatile
Plastic bottles are fine as i have used both i can tell you that there is very little to no difference between the two just the plastic ones are easier,(dont go for like coke bottles or anything make sure they are proper P.E.T beer bottles which are brown/amber in colour)

Thanks for the tips gents
Lethal, I think the bottles I heard of come with the kit

so they must be the ones to use.
Thanks again

This is deffinately the coopers kit then as i think its the only one that comes with the bottles and they are great, you can reuse the caps over and over so they are a cheap versatile bottle to use, cant go wrong
These kits also come with a brew and all the equipment that you will need, just one suggestion, dont use the brew sugar provided, go for some dextrose or malt as you will get much better results.
Main tip is have fun with it and enjoy the end results

....and whatever you do, never tip out a whole batch because you arent confident.
Brewing will almost always give you a drinkable beer.
Have fun
