Come on guys,
what do you love about Home Brewing?
What I love is:
1. Its like an apprenticeship or degree, so much to learn, experiment, try, taste, test... And its a hobby. Learn at your own pace, pay what you want to pay to brew and take it as far as you want to or afford to.
2. You can get involved on forums like this and it is a wealth of info, type in a search and research what you need to, also for the guys on here that answer the questions and help everyone out, even if you dont post regularly.
3. You get to brew any style you really want to with the right goods, and even when you bottle, you can have as many different beers as you want to in your fridge to try(start off on the lighter styles and finish off darker or heavier), what happens with commercial beer? You buy a carton of extra dry and thats all you have to drink and it costs $33-$43 a carton. Rip off.
4. With very minimal effort(more patience I think), you really do have an endless supply of beer, I mean, for what? 1hr to 6hrs work and you get up to 30 tallies worth of beer.. once your brew is done, no effort in waiting the 3-14 days to ferment, an hour to bottle(less to keg) and a couple weeks to carb up(less kegging) and you have beer, have a couple fermenters(or more) and forget about not having enough....
5. What I like is, filling the fridge with tallies and at the end of work and once I get home, open the fridge and decide what I feel like drinking based on how I feel and what is my mood. And at that point of time, I dont even think about the effort it took to make it anyway, as it is just a hobby.
Cheers all that have posted
