shaun, yeah the draught is coming along nicely now, the brew blanket overnite, kept the temputure right and nice scum ring formed with now so many bubbles on top and it the airlock is coming along nicely now bubblyin every 10 mins,

its too cold for draught brewing in winter
Hello, i see your bombay india, wouldn't it be the opposite for brewing in india too hot over 40'C daily? hehehhee
But yes i ended up puting on my heat belt around the draught brew for most of the day and tempurture went up from 14'C to 18'C, but i decided to chuck
in an ale yeast into the draught ...

G'day i just started a draught brew today at 11am, however its now 8:48pm and the tempurture is around 16'C,
I'm wondering do i need to use the heat blanket i brought in kmart to keep the temputure higher?

tooheys real ale tin(very dark liquid malt is was too)
500 grams dark malt
500 grams light malt
safeale yeast(throw away the tooheys yeast)
Og 1051 was the reading on saturday

G'day all i picked up an electric brew belt warmer today at kmart for $29 on special, it says maintains heat for up 26'C
I know my brew i'v just done about 20 mins ago needs to be around 18'C for nice dark ale,with the dark and light malt i boiled first in my brew saucepan

G'day all , i'm getting ready to make a 3rd batch of ale in 2 weeks,
now i'm wondering whether 1kg of plain sugar from the supermarket is just as good as coopers brew enhancers?
I will be adding 1kg of dark malt to the brew as well.

G'day again , oliver i came home late this arvo, and an even larger scum ring had formed, inside the carboy
and the airlock was bubblying away madly.
The temputure now is 18'C, so how long roughly does ale take to ferment?
I pleased about my first brew ever 2 months ago,,
