my story's similar to grab's,

used to suffer chronic hangovers and could not even look at a smoke all day.

Had an extra big night followed by the super size hangover and next thing i knew i hadn't had a smoke for 2 days. :D

35 a day to zero, that was 2 yrs ago and i've never even missed the ...

I havn't heard of Armstrong's Kits before, how do you rate them as opposed to Coopers, Morgans etc. Are they available in Oz ?

yes.. but my point is this has now been 8 days with no sign of the cap dropping and i would like to rack before i head off for another week.

Would it be ok to gently stir it in, let it settle for 6hrs or so and then rack ?

Or is this risking ...

Also you could rig it up so that it gave you your drinking statistics - how many you had, when you started when you finished, how long each beer took etc. Whether that information is good bad or useless I don't know.

I thought it wasn't a good idea to boil the Kit as you can alter the bitterness etc of the already added hops.

g'day all,

do wheat beers take longer to ferment ?

i put a morgans kit down last sat 24th, checked it this morning, the airlock still has moderate activity and the krausen is about 20mm deep :shock:

morgans kit 1.7kg
morgans wheat malt 1.0kg
p c s 250gm
SAFwheat K97
23 lt
temp @ 21* approx

reading these earlier posts ( here and other sites ) there seems to be no middle ground as far as carbonation is concerned :evil:

it's either glass grenades or, as you say, flat as.....

Can of Morgans, 1kg Dex, 500g finely grated ginger root (several peices of knuckle skin & blood inc.), 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 2 tbsp golden syrup, 2 tsp ginger powder, 2 tsp cinnamon, 6 cloves, 2 chilli's from the garden. Boiled the lot for 30 min, then ...
