Re: Carbonation and Maturing time in keg

Thanks for the info, was not a hi alcohol beer but it did seem to take a good 4 weeks to stop fermenting I had just left it a little longer to be sure as previous brews were still ferementing in the bottle and fizzing up. What would be the recommended fermentation time?

Carbonation and Maturing time in keg

Hi

Just started using kegs. I brewed a ND brew lager with WLP800 liquid yeast, everything seems to have gone well took around 6 weeks at 11deg and them racked for a week at 11deg then kegged. Question is what is a suitable maturing time before drinking, I use to leave the bottles 3 months but I ...

Bottle - sugar or light dry malt

Just wanted to get some thoughts, I have a Muntons gold cont pilsner to brew up. On the instructions is suggests using spraymalt instead of sugar for the bottle stage. Any thoughts on the advantage of the spraymalt over the sugar? Is this a general option for all beers?

I have just started brewing a month or so ago, my first batch has been bottled for 3 weeks or so and cracked a few on the weekend which tasted ok. One thing I am not sure of is the alcohol content of the beer as it seems really lite.

I brewed a Brewcraft Munich Lager (used yeast that came with the ...

First brews

Just started my first HB on the weekend. Everything is going ok, got a lager and a stout going both at about 22deg going steady. Guy at the home brew shop said fermentation should be finished in 3 or 4 days and then bottle. But reading the posts it looks as though I should wait for a couple of weeks ...
