Exactly what i'm aiming to achieve. If anyone else has any other ideas on how to do ...

Re: Split Extract Batches
Thanks Earle

Split Extract Batches
Hi all
What i am wanting to do is get an idea of what a particular hops characteristics are like, eg flavour & aroma. The idea being that i can start to put together some of my own recipes down based on what hops i like.
My plan was to get a fairly neutral extract base and trial different hops. I ...

Extract out of date
Hi all
I have 2 Brewferm extract cans out of date by 3-4 weeks, will they still be ok? I was thinking of replacing the provided yeast with some fresh yeast as a starting point.
Any thoughts?
Justin

Using a Refractometer
Howdy
I need a bit of help using my new refractometer. I kinda thought it would be easy but its turning out to be a bit of a struggle. My 4.5 % beers are showing up as 14% . I tried some wine which also showed up a fair % higher, and also got about 5% higher on some rum. Despite my attemps ...

Aeration
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little bit about Aeration.
I understand that you should Aerate before pitching your yeast but i dont really understand:
1. Why this needs to be done
2. What are common methods of Aerating?
Cheers!
