Re: Jokes anyone???
In ancient Greece, there was a chicken farmer. The man was well-off and had over 300 chickens to his name, along with a big strapping monster of a rooster that kept his hens churning out eggs each day. The work was good and he was growing wealthier each day, until as Murphy's Law dictates, dissaster ...

Re: The CanIrish Ale-Stout
Every brew my brother and parents have done in the past, oh 17 years was siphoned with the mouth. They never had an infected batch, homnestly.
However, I don't do that for the aforementioned reason. I have a self-starting racking cane that does the trick nicely. I take a sip from what's leftover in ...

Currently racking the brew into a carboy for second fermentation. Got a good mouthful of the stuff whilst siphoning.
Mmmnn, nice and bitter.

French Canadian Beer Bread
I'm French and Canadian, so the name is apt! Doubt this is an ancient recipe however, I developed it myself.
Ingredients:
1 bottle of preferred beer (330-375ml bottles, whatever size you like)
- I have used Lagers, Pilsners and Stouts before, all make good bread but with different flavours.

A touch of Oak?
Yes, another idea, heh...
I noticed in my local store here some oak chips and such used to give home-made wine that from-the-cask flavouring. I wonder if it can be done successfully with an ale as well, giving it a bit of that oak-aged flavour, such as from Innis & Gunn.
Has anyone ever tried this ...

Re: Pitching a bottle of beer instead of Yeast
Thank you kindly for that advice! Certainly makes a little more sense than simply chucking in the sediment and hoping for the best in 23 liters worth of prepared wort, heh.

Pitching a bottle of beer instead of Yeast
Was just reading through the FAQs and came across thet question... and it truly intrigued me.
On and off I was pondering the idea of using yeast from the lees of my favourite store-bought beers to brew with, thougfh was unsure as to just what would happehn, and I didn't want to risk wasting a batch ...

Hello!
Newcomer to the forums and the site itself, rather like it here. Very good source of information... to the point where it can be considered dangerous. After learning what one can do with two cans of wort, I decided to take a flying leap.
