airlock activity has restarted
I have had a brew fermenting for 12 days. After 5 days airlock activity had ceased,so i thought i would leave it an extra day or so to make sure the yeast had done its thing.I didnt take an sg reading, but on day 7 there was airlock activity again, say 1 bubble every 30-45 seconds. It is now day 13 and ...

Tried a bottle of my latest and greatest brew last week, and what a fine beer it turned out to be.I thought i would go to the next level from your off the shelf coopers kit, although a little bit more expensive it was more than worth it.It consisted of a can of Coopers Premium Selection Sparkling Ale ...

Should beermakers smell like this?
After an extended absence from homebrewing,I have found a new interest in this rewarding pastime ,the main reason being the cook has been on my back about the price of commercial beer, and, so far ,HB tastes a whole lot better. My first effort was a Coopers Real Ale,brewed back in january during the ...

Carbonation Drops
Do these work as good as priming with sugar? I used them for my last bottling but not quite convinced because there seems to be lot of variation in levels of carbonation.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL
What is the most effective way to keep my brew at the right temp.I usually use a thermostatically controlled immersion heater at 24 to 26 deg.Now since visiting this forum i am told that a range of 18 to 22 deg is better. I have read that an old fridge can be used in some sort of way .How can i ...
