I've noticed alot of guests posting on the forum, and people posting insults and things alike.

I'd suggest making it register only, if you want to post. It would make the forum feel more of a little community.

I think the time may have come

I'll do it in the next few days.

Are people happy if only members are allowed to post?

Guests could still view forums though.

What about search? Occasionally I go over to aussiehomebrewer to do a search, and then I've got to to try and remember my login and it's a pain in the butt.

hate to admit it Oliver, but I agree the time has come to stop guests flooding posts and is some cases seeming to talk to themselves!

Takes 2 minutes to register, and put your name to your posts. Who can object?
May help troll control, and bullshit flowing over from other forums.
Will also stop those annoying posts where you forget to sign in, and have to add a "that was me" note.
Go for it Oliver.

Done!

Guests can still read all posts, search, etc, but to to post you have to be registered.

This will also avoid the problem of people posting as guests by mistake.

We can always easily revisit this issue if need be.

Cheers,

Oliver

But I like talking about the troll under the bridge and he keeps the pony and the dog in line, he even left me a bottle of rye today.

I am sorry guys, I think it is the wrong way (I can't believe I said that)

Ok no I disagree with myself, its fine (this is me doing my Sybel impression). I don't think that there were that many honest guests we helped......I can think of one, who was that brewing in the bathroom with chlorophenol issue, and sanitised like no tomorrow......but he/she became a regular......what ever you did or will do, its cool with me. I'll go back to my beer now, please disregard.
