Bum,

Hmm .. if I ever moved away from Sydney I don't think i'd come back either.
Had the chance to move to W.A once but chose not too, not sure where i'd be now if i did make that move but probally wouldnt be in the same career posistion as i am now.

Still havent got my truck back, supposed to be going away tomorrow

Like Bum currently unemployed and considering an IT course as well.

I do have a $1300 paycheque that should be arriving soon, if my old boss gets off of his booty. A bit reinvestment in fork training probably wouldn't be a bad idea to ensure some more employment when vintage rolls around, failing finding something decent apart from seasonal work in the mean time.

A torn hip flexor keeping me grounded and wounded the last two weeks. Been on the bike the odd day here and there but taking its time in healing up

The same Melbourne weather that caused it with 70km winds has now swung to beautiful days of sunshine and warmth I'm missing out on

I'm in a bit of a lucky position where SWMBO makes alright money and we don't have kids or a mortgage so "we've" decided it might be best if I focus on trying to get the sort of part time job I'll be wanting during uni now while competition is a little lower. Makes sense but I still can't shake the feeling we should be saving as much as we can in the interim but maybe this way will even out. However, getting "thanks but no thanks" letters for nightfill jobs does hurt quite a bit. Must dumb down the resume for next time.

I seem to be in a similar situation to Chadjaja and have only just gotten out of the situation that Bum's in.

I have psoriatic arthritis which flares up in my hip whenever it bloody well feels like it. It's awful to be 21 and need to walk with a cane for weeks on end because of arthritis. Bastard is flaring up right now and I keep cursing the day that we moved into a two-storey house.

I was funemployed until this week. Spat the dummy at my last boss a couple of weeks ago because he's a massive prick and I decided I'd had enough of his abuse. Enjoyed some time off with brewing and the like then decided to go back on the job hunt. Had an interview on Monday, second-round interview on Tuesday and they had me start on Wednesday. I've never gotten a job so quickly before so I'm guessing I impressed the crap out of somebody. Enjoying my new job, too. It's only been three days and I'm still learning their systems, but they do keep the fridge fully stocked. Albeit with Corona, but it's nice to drink any kind of beer whilst you're still on the clock!

Incidentally, I've learned that beer is a wonderful remedy for my arthritis. Doesn't stop the pain so much as make me care about it less, which is still a win in my books. Guess I could say that my work is also providing me medical treatment in that case, right? :P

Good to hear you are working bullfrog. Beer heals all Wounds, or at least masks them.

My frustration at the moment is not being able to help other half as much or as good as I would like.

Heres one for ya
Unfortunately I have a disposition to gout which to say the least I wouldn’t wish it on anyone goes for all guys
I have been attack free for at least two years now but I think that my body is telling me to get ready for more pain!
Imagine your doctor telling you that you must give up beer because it is the catalyst for an attach
Now that would be bad for someone that has spent far too much time and money on this habit
Cheers speedie
Ps another blood test tomorrow

Best of luck with that, speedie. I might wish that your keyboard would stop working but I do hope your health improves while still being able to brew.

Turns out that my reasons aren't good enough. Already been knocked back for one of the three degrees I've applied for and placings aren't usually announced until late Jan. Not looking good.

Jeez,

Up here if you can read and write (which you obviously can) and you're an adult they will take you for anything. My brother has recently started as a theatre nurse after getting bored with being a chef. He applied, finshed the three years and is now qualified. He already doing the next course to get in with the Air Ambulance or flying doctors. Here I think that it is easier to get in as an "adult entry" then it is for some of the yr. 12's with quite high OP or tertiary entrance scores.

Must be the competition for the places.

Either way.. that sucks!!!

Hope it comes good.

Would it be possible to get some sort of external place and then matriculate to full time?
