Polyclar Agitation and Aeration

Post by squirt in the turns »

Hey folks, another Polyclar question

I only have a 2l conical flask, so when I try to agitate 100ml or so of liquid on my stirplate, such as when disolving Polyclar, I get a lot of splashing. Am I right in thinking that aeration of this solution will lead to oxidisation of my beer when I pitch it? Will a squirt of CO2 in the flask be sufficient to create a blanket that will prevent this issue entirely?

The Co2 makes sense to me!
I use a 500ml flask & a low speed to disolve my PolyClar so I don't have that issue.
