Does beer age in a Keg as it does in a bottle?

Post by Madness »

I've been reading about the amazing Wassa's Honey Porter which is best left in a bottle for 3 months. Now I used to bottle but am now in love with my kegs and was wondering if I could store this in a keg.

Would it have the same effect? Should the kegs be stored chilled?

Thanks.

Keep it chilled but like most porters it takes a good month or two to really shine. I like it better off tap especially apa's etc but prefer my wheats and Belgians from bottle.

In my experience beer ages faster in a keg (to that 'maturity' level) and then holds that optimal point for longer than in a bottle.
