I still use S23 for my lagers, and I will do for the rest of the year. In fact, I just put one down last night for the first of my 'freezer brick' lagers this season. Sure, it stinks a bit, but none of that smell hangs around in the beer.
As a kind of celebration of starting the lager season, and as a way of 'passing-the-baton', I quaffed one of the few remaining bottles of a lager I bottled last August and I think it's improved over that time. I wish I'd held more of them back now.
