I have been glacially slow on this, serious case of procrastination. Sorry about that Oliver!
I have at least moved a step and now have packaged up the beer which is next to my desk at work. I'll post it on Monday.
I'm sending a RIS which was bottled 8-9 months ago. The version on tap (I found a keg under the bar I didn't know I have) is oaked and tasting magical.
The 2nd bottle is a sparkling raspberry cyser. I think it may actually be barls' recipe I have been using for a number of years now. Apple juice, honey and raspberries. Mead yeast (although I have used champagne yeast with good results). I chill it slightly and drink as a digestif. I like it as does my partner.
Thanks Dr. I look forward to them both, but in particular the RIS. No dramas re the delay.
Barls, your submission is received and in the fridge. Thanks.
I am yet to taste any of my winnings unfortunately, initially due to being busy, then being away, and now being sick as a dog and not really feeling like beer.
Thanks Doc. I am still sick and have been away for work (and am at the airport at the moment going to NZ for a week) so haven't had a chance to try any of them. I hope to get to some of them next weekend.
Thanks Barls. I had 12 hours sleep last night and could have slept all day. A chick at work suggested that maybe I have glandular fever. I hope she's wrong ...
Had that took me about 6 months off work to get better. It's hard to diagnose, they only picked it up due to the extremely low liver function.
If you do have it, take it very easy mate and don't push yourself too hard
I sent off a package from the Emnpaulaner brewery today, so if you don't get a notice in your regular mail perhaps go down and check your box for my package at the end of the week. It should be there Friday.
There is an amber ale, an AIPA and a red wine barrel/oak aged, dark saison in there for you.
I hope you are feeling better soon and it's not the dreaded GF. That reduced liver function mixed with a 9.5% dark saison is a bit of a concern.
Thanks Paul. Received yesterday and ready in the fridge for tasting. I'm feeling much better so tomorrow may be the day that I crack some of the winnings and report back.
