Re: What are you drinking now?
I'm currently drinking my 'Mosaic Earle'. It replaces the Galaxy in the Earle's famous Stone and Wood Clone with Mosaic, Citra, and a bit of Cascade that I had lying around. 65g of Hops all up! I think that will become my new 'Standard Hop Weight'. Only two weeks or so in the bottle so far but I'm hoping the hop flavour doesn't die away too much. There's a lot of Citrus and Passionfruit flavours in there. Exactly the sort of flavour I've been chasing in my Pales. Will definitely brew again. Thanks Earle, for knocking the 8-ball right to the edge of the corner pocket with his recipe. I couldn't miss next shot the from anywhere on the table!
1 Tin Canadian Blonde
1.5 kg Dried Wheat Malt Extract
10g Mosaic + 5g Cascade: 20 Mins
10g Mosaic + 5g Citra: 10mins
15g Mosaic + 5g Citra Flameout
5g Mosaic + 10g Citra: Dry Hop at Rack

Wow.

Wow.

Feral golden ace. Very happy...
Re: What are you drinking now?
I was out for dinner at Cookie (Melb City) last night, second time there in a couple of weeks. Great beer list, amongst others I had MoonDog's Love Tap, which is an excellent drop. Curiously Cookie's beer menu calls it a "double pale ale" rather than the "double lager" Moondog calls it. I can see the confusion though, it tastes like a terrific hop-forward ale, you'd be hard pressed to pick it as a lager.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Not drinking it right now, but last night had a couple or Robe Town Pale Ales, from a brand new mob here in Robe, SA. A pretty easy-drinking Australian pale ale-style drop. Nothing too challenging but nice enough. Brewed at Purrumbete Brewing (Red Duck) in Ballarat until the wood-fired brewery is up and running here in Robe.

Soon to head off to the wilderness with no mobile/internet, so here's an early pick of 3 of the beauties I grabbed yesterday from Carwyn Cellars to take with me:

Re: What are you drinking now?
All magnificent beers. We had five slabs of each at the bowling club, for the very reasonable price of $7 an echo (along with Sierra Nevada Stout, Porter, Pale Ale, Summerfest and Ruthless Rye, for the same price).weizgei wrote:IPA, Black IPA and Imperial Red Ale. Will report back....
My favourite was the Black IPA. Belgian yeast and Sorachi Ace. A magnificent combination. Spicy and delicious.
Re: What are you drinking now?
Coopera pale and yes, it is going to be a session.
Just brewed my nemesis brew (the one that blew my urn) dr smurto's rye golden ale. Dropped in a 20g galaxy cube hop edition because I stuffed up once again the no chill hop schedule.

Give a man a beer and he wastes an hour. Teach a man to brew and he wastes a lifetime.

Very nice Goeff, one of my personal faves.
Well, I spent the day out on the yarra valley beer and cider tour.
It was a great day, not enough beer !!!!
Had phone issues, couldn't take photos.
Favourites were a couple of surprises….belgian pale ale at white rabbit and belgian dubbel at hargreaves hill !!!
Never had any belgian style of beer but absolutely LOVED them !!!!
The tour guide had lots of facts and stories to shaw and overall it was a great day.
Not much else to tell.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Samuel Smith's Organic Pale Ale. Just finished a Goodieson wheat beer from McLaren Vale. Both nice.
It's my birthday tomorrow so I also treated myself to a Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout. I am still recovering from last night, so easing back into it.
We visited the Gulf Brewery in Hahndorf today. Weren't that impressed with their beers. They have 11 brews, including a cider, but most were a bit neither here nor there. Probably the best were the pale, IPA and rauchbier.

Thunder Road Hop Star Extra Pale Ale
Big hop hit at the start with a bitter flavour chasing the aroma hop, settles in to an easy drinking beer after half a pint.
$10 pint or $12 jug at the fox hotel. Which to choose which to choose

Mountain Goat Summer Ale. A very easy-drinking, yet flavoursome beer. Great for summer. Funny they called it summer ale ...
