Hop Question?

Post by Punter »

Hi people, I have been reading the posts on this forum for a while now but have only just registered. I find it very helpful and have got a lot of good ideas from here. I have a question about which hops I should try for my brew. My favorite brew that I have been brewing for approx. a year is the Coopers Australian Pale Ale. Very nice drop. I make it up with 250gm LDM, 250gm Corn Syrup and 250gm Dex. This recipe works well for me but am interested in trying some hops with the next batch. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which ones I should try first?
Cheers.

G'day Punter
can't go past cascade hops for a pale ale - easiest way dry hop with 15g.

Can't go past Cascade hops for a lot of brews, but they seem to come into their own in Pales and Porters.

About 12 to 20gms dry hopped at the end of the boil should be fine.

I'll third the Cascade, but suggest a steep into the primary.

Cheers and welcome,
Greg.

again cascade..my favourite, if i drank tea, i would drink a cup of cascade.

i use Morgans hop bag of cascade. Piss easy to use, gives all the flavour but hardly any bitterness, unless boiled (i steep it in a cup while im mixing everything).
Probably not as nice as free floating cascade hops, but meh im a lazy brewer :)

You should see my back fence, where i chuck the hop tea bags at! i sometimes go and sit in the area and get wierd wafts..some times nice, sometime horrible :)
