does anyone on here use a dishwasher to put there bottles through
just a thought because the dishwasher gets bloody hot although there might be a chance that the water does not get all the way into the bottles
I was looking at our dishwasher and you could place the bottles on the spikes that stick up that hold your plates
Nup, I tried this tonight. I had my bottled soaking in bleach for a few hours, then thought I'd put them through the dishwasher to rinse them. It didn't work too well, there were still bleach bubbles in the bottles So it looks like I'll have to make one of Oliver's you-beaut bottle rinsers
Dags,
I wouldn't use the standard dishwashing powder or power balls. They kill the head in classes.
I guess they wouldn't be too good for the bottles either....
Cheers

I was thinking of putting the bottles through on a cycle without any detergent, it gets very hot in there
There may be enough residual detergent laying around in the machine to still pollute the bottle. Not sure, just noticed that with the washing machine I can do the odd load without detergent and they still come up clean.
Like I said, I tried this a few days ago, and as far as I could tell, not enough water actually got sprayed into the bottles to rinse them out properly. But then, your dishwasher might be different.
thanks for the info guys
I might chuck some through on a cycle and see how it goes
the bottles have been rinsed after drinking so I am looking at doing a final clean/sanitise before bottling
will let you know how I go, due to bottle this weekend, early next week
You don't get a lot of water shooting into the bottle because of the narrow neck. The outsides are lovely and sanitized but the insides?
Just for thought
