Cardamon, sheesh sounds like a vindaloo ?

Yeah I know it sounds a bit strange but the Cardamom has a slightly spicey orange flavour which I thought might be nice. It may well end up tasting like curry but I just can't help but try it out, and who knows it may well be a winner (I hope!!!)

Cheers

Nothing like a good curry at the end of the night, PW is just getting in early, sounds like a strategic plan to me!

Well Guys,

It's in the fermenter and going good guns. The Cardamom and orange made the house smell great, even Mrs Porridge liked the smell (not at all like a curry house 501  ) Any way I will let you know what the end result is like. I am quite keen on Wheat beer as I spent a few years in Germany drinking some very nice Weissen and would be keen to try out any other recipes that people had.

Cheers

sounds nice mate,
I wasn't hanging crap on it.
I love a curry and often cook thai / indian.

I am thinking of doing a 'WitTy' clone.
What do you think of adding Orange and Lime zest ?
might add some of the sour from those special oranges they use.

cheers 501

porridge,
you definately need to get yourself a wheat yeast if you like wheat beers!

If you dont have a HBS that stocks liquid yeasts near you, the next easiest is to buy a six pack of hoegaarden wit, drink 90% and culture the yeast ( will take a few days to come up to speed) - then do the same recipe and taste the difference!.

The orange and lime idea is on my list of things to do, and think that both cardamom + orange and the orange + lime would go very well with a curry.

Pharmaboy,

Local HBS doesn't stock liquid yeast so I suppose that I will just have to endure drinking the Hoegaarden :D :D :D to get the starter that I need.

Cheers
