Golden Saaz Pilsner

Post by Shamus »

Morgans?? Golden Saaz Pilsner is a long time favorite of mine (though obviously not to the extent that I can remember who makes it!!) and I was after some great recipies using it. Currently use it with Morgans Beer Enhancer, Saaz hops bag, kit yeast and 500g dextrose. Any suggestions to top this keeping in mind a fermenting temp of 18-24??

Hi,
Morgan's beer enhancer is already a combination with honey, you may wish to add LDME instead of dextrose for a bit more body. I would stick with the Saaz hops if you want a Pilsner any other hop will detract from the pilsner style.
Sorry Chris disagree with the cascade (which is a great hop for Pale Ales) but not pilsners, having said that homebrew is about trial and error.

I know Shamus that you stipulated an ale fermentation temperature range, but if you could use a good lager yeast and ferment at lower temps, you would really see a huge inprovement IMHO.
Cheers
