Flavourful hops

Post by mark68 »

Justa quick question. How many grams of hops are needed in the last 15 minutes of the brew to give a noticable effect? :)

You will notice 12g (which is a standard size a lot of the prepackages varieties come in)
Fermenting: Responsibly American Brown (Drink Responsibly) My first AG!
Bottled: Fuggles Larger/ale, Honey I'm Home Ale, Entropy Wheat, Dark Matter Ale, The Beer that Should Not Be (IPA)

How much of an affect do you want?

Luckily though it is reasonably linear (all else being equal), if after experimenting with 12g you think you are half way there, try 24g next time etc, etc.

Hops are good. I personally am not sure that it is possible to over hop a beer.

Cheers,
Greg

Well said Greg

I think most people will notice 12g inside the last 15mins.

I personally like 2-3 additions in the last 15mins. But I like hops :D
Todays brew had 15g @ 15min, 15g @ 10min, & 20g at flameout.
