Your Favourite Microbrewery and why?
Hi All,
I was just wanted to see if anyone wanted to share their favourite microbrewery and why?
Is it the beer? the atmosphere? is it the location? the staff? the food?
basically why you love the places you love.
Thanks

I'd second that, for the beer, the food and the location (on the waterfront at Fremantle).
BUT I have always been disappointed with (a) their range of beers (only three or four at last count); and (b) the taste of their beers apart from their Pale Ale. Both times I've had the pilsner on tap at the brewery it's been disgusting (like VB/West End disgusting, so I'm not using the term loosely) and the Roger's midstrength hasn't been as good on tap as from the bottle.
Bootleg Brewery (also in West Oz) is also good for its beer, food and location, looking over a lake.
Cheers,
Oliver

1st - Little Creatures in FREO. (Good beer, top food, groovy music and a view to die for)
2nd - Colonial Brewery in MARGARET RIVER (awesome range of seasonal beers coupled with a great australian / asian menu)
3rd - Duckstien Brewery in SWAN VALLEY (for the german sausage / pils combo).
The new Duckstien in Margaret River is being built at the moment. CAN NOT WAIT till this place is open for business - counting the days!

Fave Brewery is Mountain Goat here in Melb. Second would be the Portland Hotel in Russell St (Melb again).
Goat wins on all points for me,
beer - three or four on tap - IPA, Pale, Hightail (Amber ale) & a Stout (seasonal).
atmosphere - an old industrial building refitted as brewery, it looks the part.
location - North st Richmond, only a short ride from work or home.
staff - Great bunch.
food - pizza made on site!
They are open for tours on Wednesday evenings, check out http://www.goatbeer.com.au/.
damn right. riding an hour home in 30 degree heat will sober most people up...plus i think that took a while to type outdags64 wrote:and you can still type legiblySimo wrote:i tend to go down for many a friday open nights but i skipped this week due to a uni ski club arvo pub crawl that dragged on untill just now.

Corripe Cervisiam
Grumpys hands down for me.
The beer is quality, pizza is great, & they are also a homebrew shop... what more could you want?
