There seems to be some varying tales out there about how long beer lasts in PET bottles. Yes, glass is the preferred option for long term storage, but I would like to know about peoples experiences with PET.
And I reckon I'll see a tale about a fully intact Cro-Magnon man being dug up, PET bottle in his frozen hand, and it being a quaffable beer!
I shared a PET bottle of Brewcraft Dutch lager with my old man last weekend .
According to my notes it was 6 months old and very drinkable and retained a good head .
I always bottle into PETs bar 3 glass bottles for vintaging from every batch I brew .
And yes , vintaging is a real word
I'm on a special alcohol diet ,
It's really amazing ,
I lost 3 days in the first week ! !

Cheers

I have used mine a few couple of times now, seems to be ok.
Grumpywolf: I reuse mine, that plastic seal ring is just there as proof that the bottle hasn't been opened, it serves no other purpose. For homebrew, if the cap is screwed on properly that's all you need to know.

I got 2 left from my first brew that will be coming up to 3 months on Friday. They both feel very firm so I guess they have no problems. I'll crack one open on Friday and see how it goes.
