Just done my first atempt at racking a Blue mountain laregr and all has gone well.
I also plan to bulk prime.
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the use of a sediment reducer on the tap to the fermenter. From what I can see the sedimentt usually sits below the tap anyways.
I was thinking about not even using it and just bleed half a cup of beer off to clear the tap when racking or bulk priming.
I used 1 for a doz or so brews until one day it got blocked and I had a hell of a time getting my beer out. I threw the thing in the bin and have never looked back. My brews are always clear.
I have a foot in each camp; a reducer on the primary fermenter and none on the secondary and thats for a very good reason. The new tap I bought (at Big W) for the secondary (Willow conversion) didn't have one and nobody seems to sell them. Everybody will sell me a new tap with one attatched but I'm just too lazy and too cheap. Hang on that's two reasons
