Condensation qn

Post by lliw »

Hey, ive got a coopers lager+1.5kg amber liquid malt+hops brewing at 18 degreese atm.

I didnt get a good seal on lid, its not bubbiling but know it has been brewing.

My question is after the brew has stoped reacting with the yeast dose the condensation on the lid dissapear?

Im going to take the SG but i just wonted to know.

doesn't matter whether the lid seals, whether ther is consensation or anything. Take an opening SG and then when you think it's stopped then take sg readinsg and when they are the same for 3 days bottle.

The condensation on the lid forms due to the exothermic processes of the yeast and the dextrins. After this has completed, the brew stops giving of heat, hence the condensation should eventually disappear.

... but the condensation won't disappear as soon as the brew stops fermenting.

Plus, the amount of condensation would, I'd reckon, also depend on the ambient temperature.
