Try the Country Brewers Xtract Pilsener with 20gm of Saaz dry hopped.
Comes with Saflager yeast. let it ferment at about 14degrees for 2 to 3 weeks, bulk prime and let mature in bottles for 3 months. absolutely fan bloody tastic
With the Xtract pilsner you don't need to add anything. it is a 3kg all malt brew and as i said is pretty sensational.
Soem say i have a lot of willpower waiting 3 months but the wait provides a eally great brew. i'd rather wait and get a good brew than drink early and have amediocre brew.
While on the Country Brewer products, give the European Pilsner Wetpak a thought. My opinion this is a step up from the 3kg Extract, but it is quite full on with flavour compared to most pilsner kits.

will the x tract kit be really close to the real thing. i have to make it as close as possible what else could i do to make it a bit more real?
what does it mean by dry hopped?
is it too hot to brew a pilsner in melbourne now? what could i do to keep the fermenter cold without a fridge. maybe put it in a bathtub of water and add some ice every now and then?
downed a few lagers, pilsners and a wheat beer (beesnees) tonight. the james squires was ok,not quite as good as the little creatures in the true pilsner style but a nice beer! tastes like a bit of a caramelly crystal ale type malt is in there? not a clean and refreshing as i would like
to order the xtract kit from NSW it will cost me almost $35. is this kit worth it and how do i add the hops to get the true James Squire Pilsner taste?
If i was you i would take a look and buy a few various kits ( they are all good) and this way it wont end up costing so much on average per if you know what i mean
