Hmm, I tested some with the magnet and some by resting the cap on top of the bottle. It is possible that the ones I tested with the magnet just so happend to be twist tops. I'll experiment again next time.
It seems like if you rest it on top of the bottle you can't miss. I can't see how the magnet is better.

Its not that hard, I'd rather do it than cap those Coopers PET bottles. After 10 minutes twisting those tops on my hands end up red raw. Wouldn't mind a few of the swing-top bottles though
Its also just fun capping them! It's like you're producing your own commercial beer bottles with proper caps on em.
One question, how hard am I supposed to be pushing down on the handle? Last time (my first time using a bench capper) I wasn't sure so I pushed down really hard just to be sure. I get the feeling you only have to push until you feel the cap pop onto the bottle, which isn't very hard at all.
