Blue Tongue

Post by da_damage_done »

I was up in the Hunter not long ago and stoped in at the Blue Tongue Brewery after a long day of wine tasting.

I tried the sampler thingy of all the beers on tap - from memory
a Lager, Ginger, Pilsner, a black of some description, Bitter, and an Ale.

They weren't anything to write home about.

I had had the lager and the ginger on tap in Wollongong before and didn't think they were too bad. I don't know if all the wine messed up my taste buds.

Won't be returning in a hurry.

I also made the mistake of buying a case of the Ginger (as a bit of a novelty) I am now struggling to drink it and can't even give it away - my mates who have tried it have all pooh-poohed it. :(

Anyone else expirienced this?

think this has come up before but meh.
i don't mind their ginger and quite like their pilsner, wouldn't really buy it often tho (got a bunch for free at uni :D). The pilsner was a nice beer to suck down on a late summer arvo while listening to a band in an open air venue, can't remember it (the beer nor band :P) being anything really special but it was nice.
their lager leaves a lot to be desired and I haven't tried the others.

The pilsner was OK after a long bike ride around the bay in Melbourne. The wife didn't have much time for the lager (can't remember if I've tried it previously to her tasting it at the same time I was drinking the pilsner).

Cheers,

the lager is so-so. id drink it again if it was half price.

the ginger is no-no. watery and the flavours semmed dull, not crisp like i like them for a ginger.
now drinking - little creatures pale

No dramas at all, didn't mean it like that.

Just trying to show all the other thoughts.......
