grolsch labels

Post by ACTbrewer »

I now have a load of old Grolsch bottles, but I don't know how to label them. I did one batch in the normal way (permanent pen on the cap), but the marks are still there next brew...and the one after that! I don't want to have to individually clean off all the pen marks every brew, and I don't want to go for bottle labels. What do you guys do to label your swingtops?

I buy those coloured adhesive dots and stick them to the swing top lid. A different colour for each brew, or a cross (or other distinctive marking) through the sticker if I can't find a different colour in time.

Dots work. Or put sticky tape over the top and write on that with permanent marker. Or you could use a marker that comes off in water- one of those overhead slide markers.

I use sticky lables that go into my printer. You can make some really nice lables with them, and they wash of easily afterwards.

Sticky dots of different hue for different batches - just remember to put them on the outside of the lid...

HI all,

just to clarify:

I use Avery J8157 lables.

The dimensions on these are 64x24.3mm 33 lables per sheet

I got them at Officeworks

I just print labels onto a standard sheet of A4 paper. 10 Labels per sheet, cut them out with scissors and stick them onto the bottles with milk. (2% )
Comes off really easy as well.

milk will stick ok?? is there anything better i could use?

I want to make up a bunch of fancy looking labels for my 1st batch, just as a novelty thing. I was considering getting some sticker paper from office works, but have heard i might have a hard time getting it off. if i got some glossy paper, could i just stick it with water soluble glue?? pva or something?

I just get big plain white label stickers and write the batch number on the label... then cross out and write the next for the next batch..

If you dont soak the bottles between batches the labels stay on. Not pretty but it works.

I record the batch numbers in EXCEL :)

Looking for an easy way to label your bottles without a huge expense..?

Check out http://www.gadgetcave.com.au/

You can purchase sheets of blank 1" round adhesive labels that fit neatly on top of bottle caps, be they crown, plastic, Grolch ect.

Free Word templates and tutorial provided.
Design and print your own labels.
Quick and easy to attach. For your Grolch tops, easily peel off the label when done, or stick the new label over top.
