I'm currently brewing a 3kg ESB Czech pilsner pack. Can't really tell if it will be good from the smell cause it currently emitting a rotten egg odour. The guy at my local HBS rates them though, its all you need in a can including hops and it comes with a saflager yeast too. Considering the ESB fresh worts are pretty good, the cans shouldnt be too bad either. A fantastic choice if you dont have much time on your hands - all it costs is $25 too.

Hi drtom, my MSB Twin Rows have started off at 1042 (26degC) and 1044 (24degC), but kit & water only, no hops added.

Would 2degC temp variation make a difference? Wouldn't have thought so.

Anyway, hope this info helps.

Seriously, no affiliation and lucky to be a turbo piss from the original Thornleigh Store.

Cheers mate. I'll assume an initial gravity of 1043. :-) The 2degC difference would only make a very slight difference. I rarely measure much more carefully than about 2 points anyway. Because I tend to rack after a week or two (depending on the vigour of the fermentation), and bottle at least a couple of weeks later, I only need the gravity for alc calculations really.
