Your Favorite Pubs
The Wheatsheaf (Thebarton SA), Grumpys brewhaus, The Australian (Rocks NSW), the Lord Nelson, & the Camden Valley Inn are some of my favourites.

The Commercial Horsham - they have a intresting display of old heritage signs and things of the Wimmera like having wool presses done tastefully
The Royal Horsham I like the outside but the inside isnt the best
Hey Goatsby, i'm from Horsham too. It's a small world after all![]()
Our pubs are pretty crap as far as beer goes, but the Commercial has been well done as far as looks go.
As for as beer choices go in Horsham pubs (on tap) if you don't like Draught or VB you'll end up a very thirsty man.
I dont think there are any choices on tap, the Bull and Mouth was exotic at one stage and had XXXX gold.
What do you think about the renos at the Exchange?? Tiled floors , stainless steel and sending crappy crappy James Blunt or Ben Lees music piped all around the jiont , shame shame, sahme had I had have known of this beforehand I would have made 20 planning objections.
Antyway I do most of the drinking in the shed these days, good music, good company (the Dog and HRCC workers) and GOOD BEER, at present Im just bottling a Thomas Cooper premium.
cheers
G'day Chris,Chris wrote:Boonie, I'm a fan of Coopers Pale, but I don't think it tastes all that good on tap. Still, beats the hell out of Tooheys.
First time I had this on tap, reminded me of my HB.....maybe that's why I loved it. My fellow HB partner at the time rated it also.

I prefer to drink James Squire, Coopers and Tooheys Black on tap now I have seen the light

Went to Newcastle Knights game (NRL........go the Eels) Blue Tongue draught was shite

Boonie

Chris, definately try the Lager as it is a pretty good beer.Chris wrote:I haven't tried the lager, but your judgement on the draught is dead on.
By my tastes it is one of the best "Commercial" beers going around.
I mentioned in another thread about Little Creatures (WA) Pale Ale. Best Commercial Oz beer I have had this year.

Looks like your "Soon in Canberra" location needs updating.Chris wrote:LCPA is damn good.
Get yourself to Canberra and try the 12 beers on tap at the Wig and Pen- that is really worth the trip.
Have you got an address or a particular suburb of ACT it is in?
Might take the kids to the "snow" and "happen" to pass by .....

I'm coughing from laughter about the "location" and have just woken up my kidsChris wrote:I'll change my location just for you Boonie.
The W & P is in the "CBD" of Canberra. It is on Alinga Rd, on the bottom floor of a building called the Canberra House Arcade.
Alinga basically runs off Northbourne Ave, which is the main road in Canberra.
Try wigandpen.com.au

Thanks for the info Chris

you may be thinking of the Dan OConnell or the Wellington in North Adelaide off the main drag, or the Queens Head
most pubs in North Adelaide are good, Royal Oak, Oxford, Archer
Mmmm The Rose has stubby holders now.
The pub I was thinking of in North Adelaide was off the main drag, I was taking a stroll along a leafy street and discovered a little pub right in the middle of street, stopped me in my tracks immediantley. It may be the Queens Head it was a single story pub and a very very welcome find on a hot day.
I must do some research.
Yes North Adelaide is certainly on my list.
I u7sed to live in Williamstown In melbourne
my local was the Morning Stag
I did like the Crown, Steam Packet Friday nights and the Yaucht Club for the $3.50 meals. also the Stags Head. Havnt been back that way for yonks
