Xmas Drinks
Xmas Drinks
Hi guys,
have you any ideas or recipes for a Xmas drink ?
I dont mind the James Squires Strong Ale, so any ideas for this would be most helpful.
Cheers

I purchased a Kriek made by Brewferm.
I have brewed & bottled it, is on heat at moment for secondary and will sit there

It is a Belgian beer........hopefully. Only makes a case/slab though.
I am also making a Strawberry beer that is on another thread. Strawberries going in this weekend

I tend to knock back a "few" that time of year.
A homebrew is like a fart, only the brewer thinks it's great.

drtom, These were on special at big W, not really a special only 50c off, about 10.50......anyway, what do you put with this, just LDM?drtom wrote:If you like the James Squire beers, then you should try the MSB Kits. They're made with the same malts. I've just cracked open my first bottle from a JS Pilsner clone based on their two row malt lager kit, and very nice it is too. Their oatmeal stout is good too.

Actually, you don't put anything with them. MSB kits are made and bittered to be brewed with no other ingredients, for a total of 11.5L.Boonie wrote:drtom, These were on special at big W, not really a special only 50c off, about 10.50......anyway, what do you put with this, just LDM?drtom wrote:If you like the James Squire beers, then you should try the MSB Kits. If you want to make a full sized 23L brew, just buy 2 cans!
Het Witte Konijn
Are you sure this is true drtom? I've made 2 of their kits & I found them to be quite drinkable. But I believe they are made in NZ by LN or Macs (same thing really) & branded by MSB. Their range is exactly the same as the Macs range just re-nameddrtom wrote:If you like the James Squire beers, then you should try the MSB Kits. They're made with the same malts. As others have already said, you don't need to add any more fermentables.Boonie wrote:drtom, These were on special at big W, not really a special only 50c off, about 10.50......anyway, what do you put with this, just LDM?
I've added flavour hops to the MSB kits I've brewed. For the 2 row, I added Hallertau and Saaz for flavour. Came out beautifully.

Could not help myself. Neighbour just had a baby yesterday and I happened to throw a couple in the fridge last night in preparation for 2 day.Boonie wrote:I already have some planned.tazman67 wrote:Hi guys,

I tend to knock back a "few" that time of year.
Brewed 31/8 and bottled 9/9. Secondary heat until 16/9 at 20 degrees +.
Sitting at about 13 degrees under house since then.
As I said 24 hours in fridge and Crikey

the beer was fantastic. I really do not know how I am going to restrain myself. Beautiful aroma and taste.
I had a Coopers Vintage Extra Strong (Commercial) 10 minutes before and I reckon my Triple (by Brewferm) is on par.
