Failed carbonation

Post by jd »

I've got two brews bottled about 6 weeks ago that taste okay but have no fizz at all. I think the problem is that I put in level teaspoons of dextrose that I now know weighed about 2-3 grams.

Has anyone tried the method of fixing under carbonation as described here http://www.picobrewery.com/askarchive/repitch.htm.

Does anyone have another tried and proven way of fixing the beer?

If you get them really cold you can try adding a carb drop and quickly capping again. Ive read on hear somewhere that you can add dex dissolved in water, i think. Do a search.

Even 2-3 grams should produce some fizz, how does it taste? are you sure its not infected? When i say some fizz it wouldnt be much but there should be something there   What temp have they been stored at??
