I recently made a Draught with 25gm POR and I boiled it for 20 mins. I only just finished bottling it, but the aroma was a little over powering. Try maybe 10gms boil and perhaps another 10gm dry in the wort.

My 2 cents

Cheers Azza, keep the commentary going (My 2 Cents) it is good to hear what has worked and how you rate them.

POR in my next Coopers Sparkling will be limited to 10g's + Dry hop sounds like a gr8 idea for aroma.

Heya Boonie,

How did this beer turn out? was it close? did you Rack/Bulk Prime etc?

I'm interested in making this for my West End drinking crowd.

I racked it only for Bulk priming purposes, as it was fairly clear due to the fact that I left it in keg for 15 days........busy few weeks, but I had 3 brews down so that made up for lost time

I have not tasted as @ 4.24pm today, but I will go and throw one in the freezer and come back later and let you know how it goes.........Oh well, a mans gotta do........

Okey Dokey 6.23pm.

Had the first schooner from the longneck....mmmm....taste is very commercial. It is a little like Tooheys with a hint of Carlton Draught aftertaste....It is not awful, but lacks hops (obviously). Reckon my relatives would like this stuff. :D

If you were after a decent commercial clone, this one would do.

May try this one another time with some US56 Yeast, cooked at 18 and some Amarillo hops at Brew and Cascade for aroma at rack....sorry typing out loud.

What temperature did you keep it in the fermenter?

G'day Braden,

It sat at 21 Degrees. Started at 24 and dropped as I had it in the shower with a wet towel around it trying to reduce temps......hot days

Cheers

hmm lately mine has been sitting at 20 -22, would this be alrite? Im assuming so. What would happen if the temp increased slightly due to hot weather etc?

Don't stress too much about temperature Braden. 20-22 is fine and if it goes up to 24 or 26 just relax, it'll still be a nice beer.

Obviously if we could all keep our ales at 18c we would, but that's not always possible. I've made some very nice beers that were brewed at 24c and i've tasted a few nice drops that were brewed higher than that.
"Doc, what can I do about these terrible hangovers?"
'You can stop drinking beer'
"No, seriously Doc, what can I do?"

Agree with Noodles.

My LCPA temp was affected by heatwave, very hot and is still awesome, so I do not think any rise will hurt too much.

I have some sitting in my bathroom and garage at 23 degrees, they are a little cloudy, but I will rack to clear up.

Cheers
