Hiyas,
I have only 1 prepared brew to go before I try my first stout/porter recipe, and looking at some tips.
Currently I have the following ingredients
1.7 kg Thomas Coopers Irish Stout
1 kg Morgans Master Blend Chocolat Malt
Will these go together and what else if anything should I add?

Definitely add some hops
Depending on the style you are going for you may wanna look at some bittering hops as well as the fuggles/goldings. Boil the bittering hops for about 1/2 an hour
Add some crystal or even carapils - do a search for both and have a read about the flavour they will add. Also search for steeping to see how to do it.
I wouldn't add any further chocolate malt if you are going to use the malt you've listed. Chocolate malt in great quantities becomes over powering.
You could add say another 500g of LDME to bump up the body / alcohol content
Also have a look into reducing the batch to between 18 and 20 litres to make a heavier stout.
Cheers

Do your volume to 19 or 20 Litres rather than the normal 23 too.
